"Highly recommend. They sprayed inside and out for spiders and ants. Super professional, explained everything, and ensured it was safe for our dog before leaving."
"Had a massive roach problem in our rental. The technician used gels in the kitchen and sprayed the perimeter. It's been 4 months and we haven't seen a single bug since."
"Great price and awesome service. They even checked a loose tile on the roof while dusting the cavity. That Handyman aspect is a huge bonus."
Don’t Go Near It — Call a Professional
Wasps and bees are among the most dangerous pests to deal with yourself. A disturbed nest triggers an immediate, co‑ordinated defence response — dozens or hundreds of stings in seconds. For anyone with an allergy — known or unknown — a single sting can cause anaphylaxis and become a life‑threatening emergency. European Wasps are particularly aggressive: unlike bees, they can sting repeatedly and do not die after attacking. Every year in Melbourne, people end up in hospital after attempting DIY nest removal with a can of spray.
At Good Guys Pest Control, our technicians attend in full PPE, treat the nest safely from the correct distance and angle, and remove it completely once the colony has been eliminated. We back every wasp and bee removal with a full one‑year guarantee — if the nest returns or a new colony establishes in the same location within twelve months, we come straight back at no additional cost.
Our 3-Step Wasp & Bee Removal Process
1. Property Inspection
We identify the species, locate the nest or hive — including those hidden inside wall cavities, roof voids, sub‑floors, and garden structures — and assess the size and activity level of the colony before any treatment begins. Correctly identifying whether you have wasps or bees determines the entire treatment approach.
2. Safe Nest Treatment & Removal
Our technician treats the nest with commercial‑grade insecticidal dust or spray while in full protective gear. Once the colony has been eliminated, the physical nest is removed where accessible to prevent the structure from attracting a new colony or causing damage — particularly important for bee hives, which contain honey that can liquefy through walls and ceilings if left untreated.
3. Handyman Exclusion & Prevention
Unlike standard pest controllers, we are also licensed handymen. We seal the entry points — gaps in eaves, weep holes, cracks in external walls, and roof void access points — that wasps and bees use to establish nests inside your home’s structure, reducing the risk of re‑infestation at the same site.
The Wasp & Bee Species We Remove
Wasps and bees behave very differently from each other and require completely different treatment approaches. Getting the identification right is critical to a safe and effective removal.
European Wasp
The most dangerous and aggressive wasp species in Melbourne. Bright yellow and black with a smooth, shiny body, European Wasps build large papery nests inside roof voids, wall cavities, sub-floors, and underground burrows. A mature nest can contain thousands of workers.
They sting repeatedly, are highly territorial around the nest entrance, and become significantly more aggressive in late summer and autumn as food sources diminish.
Our Solution: Insecticidal dust injected directly into the nest entrance in full PPE. We treat at dusk when workers have returned to the nest to maximise effectiveness. The nest is physically removed once the colony is confirmed eliminated to prevent future re-occupation.
Paper Wasp
Slender, brown or reddish with yellow markings, Paper Wasps build distinctive open-celled, umbrella-shaped nests under eaves, pergolas, letterboxes, and garden furniture. Nests are smaller than European Wasp colonies but Paper Wasps will sting aggressively when their nest is approached or disturbed.
Their nests are highly visible and often found just above head height around outdoor entertaining areas.
Our Solution: Direct residual spray treatment of the nest at night when the colony is at rest, followed by complete physical nest removal. We also treat the attachment point with residual chemical to deter rebuilding in the same spot.
Mud Wasp
Mud Wasps — also called mud daubers — are solitary wasps that build distinctive cylindrical mud tubes on walls, fences, window frames, and inside garages. They are far less aggressive than social wasps and rarely sting.
However, their mud nests accumulate quickly, are difficult to remove cleanly, and can block weep holes and ventilation gaps if left unchecked.
Our Solution: Safe physical removal of mud tubes and treatment of building surfaces with residual spray to discourage future nest building on the same structures. As licensed handymen, we also clear any blocked weep holes affected by mud wasp activity.
Honey Bee
Honey Bees are important pollinators and are treated differently to wasps wherever possible. A swarm on your property — typically seen as a large cluster of bees hanging from a branch, fence, or wall — is usually a temporary resting event while scouts locate a permanent hive site.
An established hive inside a wall cavity or roof void is a separate situation and requires urgent attention: a bee hive left untreated will fill with honey that can liquefy, seep through walls, and cause significant structural damage.
Our Solution: Where safe and accessible, bee swarms are relocated rather than destroyed. Established hives inside wall or roof cavities are treated and removed in full, including the honeycomb, to prevent honey damage and secondary pest attraction.
Note: Never attempt to block a nest entrance, spray a nest with household products, or disturb a hive before a technician arrives. Doing so makes the removal significantly more dangerous and more difficult. Keep children and pets well away from any identified nest or hive site.
What's Included In Our Wasp & Bee Removal?
We leave nothing to chance. A standard Good Guys Wasp & Bee Removal covers the full nest or hive site, the surrounding structure, and every accessible entry point wasps or bees are using.
Inside The Home
Insecticidal dust injected into roof void nest sites where European Wasps and Honey Bees commonly establish colonies inside the home's structure. Treatment is conducted in full PPE at dusk for maximum colony contact.
Targeted treatment of wall cavity and sub-floor nest sites, including physical nest and honeycomb removal where accessible to prevent honey damage and odour after the colony is eliminated.
As licensed handymen, we seal the weep holes, eave gaps, and wall cracks that wasps and bees used to access the internal nest site, preventing re-establishment at the same location.
Outside The Home
Removal of Paper Wasp nests from eaves, pergola beams, letterboxes, and outdoor entertaining structures, with residual spray applied to attachment points to prevent rebuilding in the same spot.
Treatment of nest sites in garden structures, fencing, retaining walls, and sheds. Underground European Wasp nests in garden beds and lawn areas are treated via direct nest entry injection.
Safe removal of mud wasp tubes from external walls, window frames, and garage interiors, with surface treatment to discourage rebuilding on the same structures.
Safe removal or relocation of bee swarms and established hives from external structures, trees, and garden areas. Full honeycomb removal from accessible sites to prevent property damage.
